LOD has announced the launch of their inaugural Indigenous Internship Scholarship via a partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF). This Scholarship will provide a tertiary student with financial support as well as 8 weeks of practical work experience across the LOD business.
Anita Thompson, LOD’s Head of Business Operations says: “I’m so thrilled we are launching this Scholarship which is going to provide a huge opportunity for Indigenous tertiary students. At LOD we are in a fortunate position to be able to help these students gain practical experience and support them to build the first stages of their career, which could be potentially life changing.”
Andrew Penfold AM, AIEF Executive Director says: “We are pleased to be partnering with LOD to open the doors of opportunity for Indigenous students. Through these scholarships, companies like LOD are able to truly complement their Indigenous engagement initiatives, and develop meaningful, long-term relationships with some of the most talented young Indigenous people looking to launch their careers in the coming years.”
Anita Thompson understands the impact a Scholarship like this can have. “I was fortunate enough to receive an Indigenous Cadetship with Deloitte while studying my business degree” Thompson says. “By putting in the hard work during that Cadetship, I was subsequently offered a graduate position and it really set the foundation for the career I’ve had. I am so excited to see the way in which we can give others a similar opportunity.”
