How LOD Helped Raisa Build a Career in Media & Entertainment Law with Balance and Purpose

Through LOD, Raisa’s built a flexible legal career in Media & Entertainment, working with leading events and production companies across the UAE. Each secondment has given her real responsibility, career growth, and balance—while still leaving time for travel, hobbies, and life beyond work.
Can you please introduce yourself and tell us about your current secondment?
I began my legal career in 2015 in litigation, gradually finding myself drawn to copyright disputes. That curiosity soon evolved into a full-blown love affair with the contract side of Media & Entertainment (M&E). Once I had my first taste of M&E law, there was no looking back, it’s a niche area, and building expertise here opened the door to my first secondment at a well-known production house in Abu Dhabi. Soon after, I was lucky to cross paths with LOD, who’ve kept my career exciting with a steady stream of challenging and rewarding secondments. As of August 2025, I’m working with a leading entertainment company that organizes large-scale events and concerts. And from September 2025, I’ll be rejoining another major events company—where I’d previously been seconded, previously working across their tourism, catering and entertainment divisions and now their corporate divisions, as well.
What attracted you to the Lawyers On Demand model?
Coming from a jurisdiction where full-time, permanent roles were the norm, LOD’s model felt refreshingly different. The flexibility to work on high-quality, short- or medium-term engagements, while still building my skills and network, was a complete game-changer. Plus, there’s something exciting about knowing your next role might be in a totally different sector, but still a perfect fit for your skill set.
